Alain. A. Volcere started his public service career in the early eighties in Aviation; first as an Air Traffic Controller then Airport Manager. He was one of the five Air Traffic Controllers selected to operate the Seychelles Flight Information Region (FIR) just after its inauguration in 1991.
In the year 2000, he was called upon to join the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation as Director General Tourism Development, a post which he occupied until 2001 when he was promoted to Principal Secretary for Youth in the Ministry of Education and Youth. In 2007, he was transferred to the National Sports Council where he worked until 2013, after having played a vital role in one of the most successful sporting event Seychelles has ever hosted - the 2011 Indian Ocean Island Games.
Mr. Volcere was back at the Youth Department between 2013 and 2016 as Principal Secretary before taking up the post of Principal Secretary in the Office of the vice- President. He has been the Principal Secretary for Immigration and Civil Status since November 2017.
